Use of 'getting to'

Hi

Are these sentences fully natural--and synonymous?

  1. During the pandemic, getting to a specialist was quite a task.
  2. During the pandemic, reaching a specialist was quite a task.
  3. During the pandemic, finding a specialist was quite a task.

Thanks,

Tom

1 and 2 don't sound natural to my ear. getting to and reaching in those sentences suggest difficulty with transportation, which is probably not what you're trying to say. getting a specialist and finding a specialist (3) sound all right and are synonymous.

  • That suggests more of a search by phone (or by word of mouth through friends).
