Use of 'further' as a verb

Hi

Could you please tell me if the use of further as a verb is natural here? Any other suggestions please?

  1. It's high time you furthered your education.
  2. I don't want to further the matter anymore.
  3. I don't want to further the topic anymore.
  4. There's no point in furthering the pursuit.

These are not good. You could change number 4 to there's no point in pursuing it further. That would be familiar and would work.
