Use of fail

Hi

Is the use of the word fail (malfunction - break down) common in everyday English? Are these sentences natural?

I think my lighter has failed.
The clock isn't working. Do you think the cell/battery has failed?
I think my laptop has failed again.
I really don't know what to do with my TV; it keeps failing.

Thanks,

Tom
