Use of ‘every day’ and ‘more of what is their own’

Have I correctly used the adverb ‘every day’ and the expression ‘more of what is their own’ in these sentences?

They learn both French and English every day when they communicate with one another. It is better, however, if they use more of what is their own and which is the best for their learning – French.
