Use of 'eradicate'

Hi

This is how the word eradicate is used in our newspapers. Does it sound natural to your native ears?

Are these sentences fully natural?

  1. Polio was claimed to have been eradicated from the country.
  2. When will this disease be completely eradicated from India?
  3. People want to see corruption/robbery/injustice eradicated from their land.
  4. The eradication of poverty/corruption may not happen in our lives.

Thanks,

Tom
