Use of "eminent/eminence"

Is it possible to write "This attests to the eminent quality of the university" or "This attests to the eminence of the university"?

I am writing a motivational letter for uni. and was a bit uncertain how the word is used.

Thanks,
E

This attests to the eminence of the university-- This is OK ('eminent quality' is just a poor paraphrase), but the usual phrase is 'to the prestige/reputation of the university'.
