Use of diagnose

Hi

Can we use the verb diagnose with not so serious diseases? Are these sentences correct? Any other suggestions please?

  1. She was diagnosed with dyspepsia.
  2. He was diagnosed as suffering from typhoid.

Thanks,

Tom

They actually sound OK to me, but something tells me they shouldn't. You don't see the word "diagnose" very much. And yes, you can have a diagnosis of sunburn or chapped lips.

I am not suited by temperament for forums where flaming is not allowed. I have to go kick my dog about every third post as it is, and if I have to engage in polite exchanges in here, it would probably be the death of him.
