Use of Comma
In formal letters, is it a rule to put "," after Dear sir or madam?
If we know the name of the person, for example : Dear Jack. Is it required to put "," after Jack?
In case, it is necessary, then the start of the first sentence after that need to be by capital letter or no?

A comma is now becoming common in formal as well as informal letters. Business letters normally require a colon, however. At least a comma is de rigueur.
