Use of being

Hi

Would you say that the use of being is natural here? (Looks like the case of a dangling modifier in every sentence.)

I assume, today being a Sunday, you woke up late.
This being a Sunday today, let's forget about office work.
It being a Sunday that day, the plumber was off duty.

Thanks,

Tom

Mr. Tom Would you say that the use of being is natural here? I think most natives would use a 'since' clause.

It's OK, except "today" is redundant in the second one because of "this", which means "this day", which means "today". Write This being a Sunday, let's forget ....

That usage of being sounds more literary than conversational to my ear.
