Use of bathe

Hi

Could you tell me if the verb bathe is a good/natural substitution for take a bath or take a shower?

  1. OK, I'll come with you. But at least let me bathe first. (bathe = take a bath or shower)
  2. I bathe (take a shower) every day.
  3. When our grandfather was sick, the most difficult thing was to bathe him.
  4. Haven't you bathed yet? (bathe = taken a bath yet)

Thanks,

Tom

PS: For most Indians and Pakistanis, it would be practically impossible to pronounce bathed.

#1, #2 and #4 all sound slightly unnatural to this speaker of BrE, I'd use 'have a bath'. #3 sounds less unnatural to me, though I'd probably say 'give him a bath'.

Same as fivejedjon, except US "take a bath", usually. You do hear "have".
