Use of at

" I am sitting at my desk."

Does this sentence mean I am sitting on a chair with a desk in front of me and not sitting on the desk itself ?

Can we use " at " in a similar fashion for other furniture like table and pedestal ?

Thanks for clarifying. You are right , I shouldn't have used the word 'pedestal'. I actually meant 'lectern'.

Hi,

You 'stand at a lectern', meaning 'behind it, facing the audience'.
