Is the article required, wrong or optional in these sentences.

You deserve (the) respect.
They deserve (the) respect for their patience.

Sounds like it's wrong or optional with it. Am I right?

Generally you wouldn't need it, but in some situations you could include it.
A) I'm getting all this respect and I don't deserve it.
B) Yes you do. You deserve the respect (you are getting).

I see. So in my examples they are optional. Right?

However, in your example, in B), I think it is required. Am I correct?

If you use it in reference to specific respect, as in my example where "you are getting" is stated or implied, or in a sentence such as, "You have earned the respect of your team", you would need it. If you are using it to refer to respect in general, such as, "They should respect you. You deserve respect", you would not use it.
