Use of appreciation

Hi teachers,

Is this sentence correct?

I would like to invite you for lunch in appreciation to all of your effort and assistance during my graduate studies.

Thanks!

Top answer

We say "appreciation of something", not "to". "efforts" would be better as plural, I think.

Use of word in sentence

Why are you still writing 'appreciation to' when you've already been told it's 'appreciation of'?
