Use of apostrophe

Can you please tell me if which is correct: New Year's Eve party or New Years Eve party? I think the apsotrphe is correct since it is not plurar, but I see it written both ways in many places. Thanks for your help.

Use the apostrophe. I've also [rarely] seen it as New Year Eve without the possessive at all, as in Christmas Eve.
