Use a conjunction to start a sentence

I understand that a conjunction is used to link up clauses or items in a sentence.
I saw on a dictionary that the word 'but' when used as a conjunction is used to start a sentence with only one clause.
e.g. But now to the last question.

I want to know if it is ok to start a sentence with the word 'but'. e.g. But it is not that simple and easy.

Thank you.

Thank you, Alphecca Stars.

Does that mean it is not a must for a conjunction to link up clauses or items in a sentence? A conjunction can be used to do that but it is not a must. It can be used in a sentence with only one clause, right?

I used to think that there must be at least two clauses in the sentence when we use the word 'but' as a conjunction.

But, and, or, and a few other words are coordinating conjunctions. They link two equal syntactic units. These units can be nouns, adjectives, clauses, and even sentences.

He was tall but not lanky. (adjectives)
She wa
