Regarding the usage of "what is what" and " which is which", suppose there is a list column A ( name) and column B (number),and when I have to link them to each other, but not sure which is which. So I would like to ask the person who created the the list and knows what is for what by using following questions.
1. Could you tell me " what names are what numbers" ? OK / NG 2. Could you tell me " what name is what number"? OK / NG
3. Could you tell me " which names are which numbers"? OK / NG 4. Could you tel me " which name is which number"? OK / NG
Would someone help me which sentences are correct to use? I would be glad if you can answer individually if it is okay or not okay. I 'm not sure if I can bring a "noun" after what and which.
Thank you in advance Yoshi

Hi, You could say all of those things. I'd probably say eg Which name goes with which number, please? Clive
