Usage of web-slang acronyms

Question

I'm working on my course paper and I'm collecting info on acronyms, mostly the web ones. So I badly need a piece of advice, preferably from a native english speaker or a person who's tuned into the latest slang 'trends'.
What I need is examples of words, derived with the help of acronyms or shortenings. (apocope,syncope etc).
/e.g.:lolage/

Feel free to suggest tabooed terms.

The others I found in my American Heritage Book of English Usage [1996], in a final section that deals with "new" (at the time) things used in emails. Also included are emote icons (again, before you could buy or find the actual faces):

There are a lot of different acronyms to describe laughter.

lol - laugh out loud
rofl - rolling on the floor laughing
lmao - laughing my **** off
lmfao - laughing my f***ing **** off
lmaorofl - laughing my **** off rolling on the floor laughing

There is a word derived from rofl which is used - roflcopter - which is used either in isolation as a simply statement like the above or in a sentence such as "I just took a ride on the roflcopter".
