Usage of the word ABODE

Can we use the word abode instead of home or dwelling place? For example, If i am working from home then can we write like this "Today i will be working from abode and will be available on phone and chat"?

I want add some more comments got from my friends n peers about the usage of abode. It is as below.

"

1. Abode is used to describe about X person and Y person by Z person
2. Abode is used to describe about X person by Yperson
3. Abode is not used to describe about X person by X person "

Kindly let me know whether i need to seize on above comments by my friends or not. Your prompt reply will be appreciated.

No, 'abode' is old-fashioned and/or poetical. It is not used in everyday English except humorously. Your #s1-3 are not correct anyway: 'abode' is not differentiated in that way at all.
