Usage of "the"

Which of the following sentences is natural and should I use the before the two following sentences?

1- (The) employees in big companies are paid much more than (the) employees in small companies.

2- Nowadays, (the) ambitions of women are higher than (the) ambitions of men.

3- (The) bedrooms of men look messier than (the)bedrooms of women.

I know in the third sentence you'd say it's more natural to say "men's bedrooms look messier than women's". But my question is do I need to use the in all three sentences?

In (1), "the" is optional (in both places). In (2) and (3), while it may not be grammatically impossible to omit the articles, to me it is natural to include all of them.
