Usage of "straighten it out/up"

Hi,

Do you find my two uses of "straighten it up/out" natural in the following context?

1. During the development we've run up against a few predicaments, but we hold out hope that we'll soon straighten them up/out

2. My station wagon is on the fritz, but I think I'll straighten it up/out anytime soon.

Thanks in advance !
