Usage of slush /

the nature/essential part
The JD/MBA program

1) the nature or the essential part
2) the nature or essential part

3) The JD program and the MBA program
4) The JD and MBA program

When I use slush /, I feel like the phrases can be interpreted in the two ways. Or is it okay to share 'the' that way? Whch one is correct?

Thank you so much as usual.
