Let me get your opinions about usage of relative clauses.
We know that non defining relative clauses and defining relative clauses have different usage and meaning, but sometimes I feel like there is not much difference in meaning and some native English speakers also say that sometimes there is no difference in meaning whether there is a comma or not.
1) I met a cute girl.
2) I met a girl, andshe was cute.
3) I wrote a letter that described (describing) how awful their goods are to the company.
4) I wrote a letter to the company, and I described how awful their goods are.
Do you feel something different between #1 and #2, #3 and #4 respectively. In the end, what the writer wants to say is the same or very similar even though the way it is written is different. What do you think? Thank you so much as usual.
