Usage of reflexive pronouns

Good Evening everybody.

I have a quick question regarding the usage of reflexive pronouns.

Do I say "the boy invited the girl himself?" or "the boy invited the girl herself?"

What is the difference in meaning?

[1] The boy invited the girl himself . [2] The boy invited the girl herself . There is a difference in meaning.

  • [1] The boy invited the girl himself .
  • [2] The boy invited the girl herself .

  • The reflexives "himself" and "herself" are used for emphasis here, where they function as modifiers in clause or noun phrase structure.
