Usage of pronoun

I am not a native english speaker so basically i am a learner. i am always confused with the usage of grammar and there is no one to correct me. pls can you tell me whether or not the following sentences are correct.

Is it

Your pride and courage is worth mentioning

Your pride and courage are worth mentioning or

Your pride and your courage are worth mentioning

then again is it

His loneliness and privacy is not important to me

His loneliness and privacy are not important to me or

His loneliness and his privacy are not important to me

the other question is

His judgement and your judgement are not fair

His judgement and your judgement is not fair or

His and your judgement is not fair

which sentences are correct.

i hope you'll consider my questions....

It is a good question. I am not a native english speaker, still sometimes I say right things)))) There are such cases when we can use either is or are. For instance - Truth and honesty IS the best policy.

  • ( we see TRUTH and HONESTY as ONE group this is why we use IS here) I think in you examples we are dealing with the same issue.
  • I know that my answer is not complete but this is just to give you something to ponder over.

i have understood a bit. my other prob is, it is said that when Two different nouns combine to form one idea, take the singular verb.. for eg

Noise and crying makes him angry

Buying and selling is his business

Knowledge and wisdom makes a man great.

but then there was another sentence saying when Two different nouns are combined with "and" take the plural verb.

I am not a native speaker, but it feels to me that both options are possible and ok. It might depend on the desire of the speaker how to present them either as one thing or as several things.

Ticce has the right idea; it has much to do with how the speaker perceives the two 'subjects'. However, there are grammatical limitations, so you cannot do this:

(X) His judgement and your judgement is not fair.

The two determiners indicate too strongly that the speaker conceives of the judgements as two separate entities, so the singular verb is no longer reasona
