Usage of 'not only, but also'

Not only does it represent community, but also the united struggle and the spirit of democracy that Korea continues to benefit from today.

Is the sentence correct?

I think that it should be

-> It represent not only community, but also the united struggle and the spirit of democracy that Korea continues to benefit from today.

Because there is no verb in the latter sentence, but there is another object of the verb represent.

What do you native English speakers think? Thank you so much as usual in advance.
