Usage of "nor".

Hello.

What are the other usages of "nor"? For example here:

The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here. Why is it used with "nor"? The first part of that sentence doesn't even contain a negative form of "will". Can we really use "nor" as the only one negation?

Thank you.

The second part says that the world won't remember what we said. Both these parts are connected by 'nor'. Hence this may not seem to be negative directly but this has a negative meaning if you look more carefully.

  • So I feel that nor makes perfect sense over here.
  • I don't think any other word can be used.
