Usage of neither and nor

Hi. Is this correct? I think the underlined clause carries a negative connotation (not sure I phrased my question correctly - the word "connotation" might not be the word I should use.)

He hardly helped with our preparing of the meal, neither/nor did he help with the dishes afterward.
