Hello there, can I use need in the following way?

1- Mahatma Gandhi was a great soul. He and his journey of life need to be researched into.

2- Mahatma Gandhi was a great soul. He and his journey of life need researching into.

3- Mahatma Gandhi was a great soul. We need to research into him and his journey of life.
