usage of 'in additoin to'

Hi All,
Can any one explain which of the following are correct ?

1> In addition to her work on XYZ, Mary's contributions include ABC and BCD..
I know this is wrong.. but trying to understand what's wrong here.
2> In addition to her work on XYZ, Mary contributed ABC and BCD..

I think like below:
