Usage of 'had better'

Hello, how are you? I have a question about usage of 'had better'. I have learned that 'had better' is a very strong suggestion, so we have to be careful. For example, "You'd better go" means "you must go now or you will get into trouble or something." But if I say, "I'd better go or we'd better go", does it mean a strong suggestion and it sounds rude? What do you native English speakers think? Thank you so much as always in advance.

Hi, There is nothing inherently rude in the words. As with many expressions, whether there is any rudeness depends very much on the context. Clive
