Usage of conceal

Hi!

Could you please check if the below sentences are correct?

He concealed the evidence by pretending ignorance.

He concealed his malicious thoughts behind affected amiable courtesy. (I am not sure if the bold part is correct).

Are there any other alternatives in syntax while using the verb conceal?
