Hello! I have a question about comma for a particular use. I did some research in grammer books but I couldn't find the answer. As American grammer, do I need a comma in front of " but" in the example sentense below?
He told me, "Could you tell me when you are done filing?" but I didn't finish filing at that time.
Thank you, in advance, for your help !
