Usage of carry

Hi, are these correct? or which one is better?

- This is where I carry my books

- This is where i put my books to carry around

Top answer

both are wrong. the first has the wrong participle for carry. it should be carried - as the sentence is a statement, possibly to a friend or another person.

  • both are wrong.
  • the first has the wrong participle for carry.
  • it should be carried - as the sentence is a statement, possibly to a friend or another person.
  • during a statement you wouldnt really be speaking in present tense, so it needs to be past tense carried Try: This is where I carried my books.
  • The second is also wrong as you are saying you put your books in a certain place to carry them around.

Hi. Welcome to English Forums.

If from context, you didn't provide us with, you are implying the place that's destination of the books, then:
beatutiful heart- This is where I carry my books to/towards
Carry around is an idiomatic phrase.
