Usage Of "carefully", "Well"

He worded the letter carefully.

*He carefully worded the letter.

Would you give me the explanation of why the latter is ungrammatical?

He put the point well.

*He well put the point.

The point was put well.

The point was well put.

Would you render an account of why the word order "well put" is not acceptable in the second sentence, "well put" as well as "put well" being allowed in the passive voice?

Adverbs of manner usually occur at the ends of sentences. I would not say that the last one is ungrammatical but that it's unidiomatic and awkward.
