Usage of beneficial

(1) Mr. Brown is a highly experienced teacher and has a wealth of excellent teaching strategies. He thinks discussing Chapter Five first with his students would be more beneficial to them when preparing them for an upcoming reading test.


I learned the word, beneficial, not very long. Am I using it correctly? Thanks a lot.
