Usage of apostrophe

I wrote the following sentence as a part of one of my essays. Though I used apostrophe after "ancestor", I'm not precisely sure about it. Therefore, I would be really grateful, if someone could let me know whether the usage of apostrophe in the following sentence is grammatically correct or not.


Improvements in information and communication technology have made our lives far more convenient than our ancestors'.
