Usage of apostrophe

Hi,

I Have a query regarding usage of apostrophe,can u please clarify if

(a)words like family,city name or country name ,or nationality like Indian should be used like family's or familys' ,,,indian's or indians'

can u clarify in context of following sentence:-

1)Luci explains to Verna regarding her parent’s opposition to her aspirations ,,,,

should it be parent's or parents'

2)also,can you please confirm if the following sentence is correct in terms of grammar and in tone:-

Luci asserts that she would

A parent's signature. (Either parent, but only one)
Her parents' opposition. (Two parents)
