Usage of already

Could you please check if the following usage of 'already' is natural?
A: She broke her heels yesterday.
B: God! How?
A: ''The road she walked on was bumpy and messy already, plus she is not used to wearing high heels''. She wore a pair of them yesterday.
(To mean, it was first the road causing her to break heels to which contributed her high heel sandals i.e. the road was the primary reason, her not being used to wearing heels adds to that)

Hope I've made myself clear. If 'already' does not work, could you please suggest how could it be expressed?
