usage of all

Is there any little difference in meaning to use 'all day' and 'all the day'?

e.g. Has he been working all day?
He was kept waiting all the day.

And are these below expressions to be the same in their meaning and so interchangeable with each other irrespecitve of the context of the conversation?

## all day long, all the day long, all through the day, all through day

Lastly, to which type does the noun 'day' in all above expressions belong , a countable noun or an uncountable noun?

I would not say that they are "interchangeable with each other irrespective of the context of the conversation?"

Thank you for the reply. And so, it seems that the noun 'day' probably is used here as an uncountable noun. Would it be right?

And I think that you mean the summer solstice, which is allegedly not used in the Western world as far as I know. So I am surprised that right after having checked the calender, I find that you know exactly the 24 divisions of the year, which I hardly ever think a
