Usage of "after having"

"Thereafter, only the master processor, dynamically allocates a buffer for the input image, and after having read the image, it stores it in that buffer. "

Does the timing in this sentence makes sense?

I am talking about the "after having read".

Pasq Thereafter, only the master processor, dynamically allocates a buffer for the input image, and after having read the image, it stores it in that buffer. The part about having read the image makes sense. The first part is confusing to me.

Maybe if I remove the word "only", would make sense? Since I am referring to the specific processor, it is a unnecessary?

"Thereafter, the master processor dynamically allocates a buffer for the input image, and after having read the image, it stores it in that buffer."
