Usage about the verb 'protest'

Hello experts!

You have been always a great help whenever I needed your help here. Thank you very much for all that.

This time, the verb 'protest' molests me.

I've seen a few examples from googling, which show that 'protest' can be used in passive sentences.

However, the subjects in most of those passive sentences were people.

Straightforward, is this sentence usable?

" We want to apologize for the show that has been protested for its broadcast content."

Please help.......
