Usage

Is it correct to say Mistress of Ceremony when a female is performing the duties? Please advise. Thanks.

No, it doesn't. Once a neutral word to refer a lady, "mistress" has a strong sexual connotation as the nowadays respectful "madam" once had in the 1700s. I don't know what the agreed word is, but sometimes the "mistress of ceremony" is shortened to "MC" when speaking.
