I just don't see how a legal immigrant, a person who has legal documents to live in the country, is not a resident. I'm not a legal expert but logically, I believe it should. 050010id6

10When I first moved to the country where I now live I was a legal immigrant as I had the right to be here. However, I only had the right to be here for 6 months. In order to stay longer I had to apply for/and was granted a Resident's permit, giving me the status of Resident. In order to work I had to apply for a work permit, as the Resident's permit only gave me the right to reside for 5 years, not the right to work.02br
00Had I remained in the country after 6 months without applying for a Resident's permit, I would have become an illegal immigrant. 0-
