Dear Sir or Madam



I graduated with Bachelor’s degree of Computer Science and Technology at and writing to express my great interest in applying for the Master's Program in Machine Learning and Data Mining at xxx.



In 2004 I enrolled the Computer Science and Technology course and since then I have been fascinated by technologies in general and computers in particular. I possess a great thirst for knowledge and learning new disciplines and inspired by the subjects complexity and beauty.



I am particularly interest in Algorithm as being a composed, explicit person, I enjoy the challenge of questions with unequivocal answers. My character’s orderly side draws me enthusiastically towards neat solutions. In my opinion every query has an explicit solution; we just need to construct ways of attaining them. I still remember those days I tried hard to solve the classical problem--N-QUEENS problem. During this period, my programming skill improved considerably. I also enjoy mathematics as it provides me with problem solving skills primarily Calculus, Discrete Mathematics, Combinatorial Mathematics and its identities which for me is the pinnacle in mathematics. I am really enjoy programming in C++ , JAVA and other programming languages and I think that C++ is one of the most fabulous and powerful programming languages in the world . When I was a sophomore, I entered challenging project forming a team of students like my self for the Programming Contest organized by our university, which is similar to ACM. We were training together for several months. During the period, my programming skills and problem analyzing and solving ability had considerable improvements and finally got the second prize.



Artificial Intelligence is a field that I always fascinate about. After reading " Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach" by Stuart J. Russell and Peter Norvig, my knowledge about AI developed significantly and I began to wander if I can do more research in AI in my future study. Machine Learning and Data Mining is closely related with AI and this becomes one of the most important reasons I have chosen this program.



In our modern world, increasing volume of data in modern business and science makes it impossible for analysts to extracting useful information from them. Learning and Data Mining provides us complex and sophisticated methods and tools for analyzing large data sets and for searching for unexpected relationships in the data. Database plays an important role in this area’s study. Last year I was responsible for designing the Database in a online system project. I think this experience will hope me a lot in the future research.



Overall, I believe that the Machine Learning and Data Mining master program from 2009-2011 is perfectly suits my study interests.
