Urgent!!! teaching tomorrow and i want to say 'that if the question has 'did' in it then it is in the simple past tense.

teaching tomorrow and i think i can say this for sure but i need verification on it, you cant say it for past continuous and so i think im safe in say 'if the question has did it in then the tense beign used is the simple past'!!!!!!!!
