Letter Writing

Urgent. Please, help me with my letter to a dean.

Dear Mr. (Dean's name),

I am writing you to ask for your advice and help with my admission to the (program's name) program (or "to request admission in the program"? ). In the beginning of January, 2012, I have applied for enrollment into the program for Spring 2012 term. Shortly after that I received an email from (name of my college) College Admissions stating that my application was received. I took a COMPASS test on January 14th, 2012, which was last day before the deadline. After the test one of the staff members assured me that my test results would be sent over to Admissions right away. And so I was pretty sure that I have gotten in the program. Just three days ago I realized that I am not enrolled in a program. I have met with one of the college's academic advisors yesterday to see how this could happen that I am not in a program and what should I do now. The only advice I received was to apply for the program again, which I do not understand why I should do this and pay a fee again as I have submitted my application back in January and took the test all before the deadline. My concern now is that I would not be able to sign up for degree classes for Summer 2012 and Fall 2012 today (this is when registration for these classes starts for students who are enrolled in a program) and later the sections that I have planned on signing up for may not be available any more.

I hope you will be able to help me with this matter. If you need any more information please contact me by: phone (telephone number) or email (email address).

Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
(my name)
