00First, I would kindly like to introduce myself. My name is Helio, I am 26 years old and at the moment I am writing my thesis at the 00. After finishing my thesis I will be holding a Master’s Degree in “Telecommunication and Software Engineering”. I consider myself as a person with a positive and open minded character and as someone who is always looking for new experiences.02br

00In 010200 “Telecommunication and Software Engineering” is being considered as a complete University Degree (Bachelor & Master). The first four years are common for all Engineer students. During this period of time we learn all the basics of engineering, with a special emphasis on topics related to Telecommunications and Computer Sciences. After those four years we have learnt all about the necessary knowledge tools for boarding more complex projects (Physics, Mathematics, Electromagnetic Fields, Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, Computer Sciences, programming, etc). The last two years are dedicated for to become specialized in one or more of the three fields our University offers (Computer Sciences, Electronics and Telecommunications). During this time I had my first contacts with Robotics, and I started my own learning about Cryptography. With the time those two fields have become part of my hobbies. So finally, I decided to get specialized on Electronic and Electrical Engineering (due to the fact that a big number of the lectures related with robotics were part of this specialization) and also on Computer Sciences (especially on those lectures related with Artificial Intelligence and Computer-Human Interfaces). My interest on Cryptography became the impulse for doing what I always wanted: Researching. 00 00I decided to write my thesis about a self-project of cryptographic algorithms and as a partial result of the studies done for my thesis, last summer I presented a conference paper at the “National Symposium for Telecommunications, 00”. Another paper is going to be published at the “Journal of Computer Science, 00”. 02br

00On the last six months I have been involved into a project of Computer-Human Interfaces based on the human language. Although we are now more focus on studying some of the basic problems under the Natural Language Processing, due to my experience with Robotics and Computer Sciences, I have a solid background in AI.02br

00Languages and cultures have been a big part of my life. As I remember, I have been always spending my free time on summer camps, exchange programmes, language courses or just travelling around. I believe that living in 00 for one year will give me the opportunity to deepen this experience. 010200 is the paradigm of an innovator society. R&D departments from Japanese companies are constantly leading the revolution of technology. For me, being able to learn directly from a researching team of one of the leading companies of the world is an amazing challenge and a great source of knowledge. 00 00I consider myself a hard worker and a conscientious student who knows what does it means for his personal and professional development. Having the opportunity to apply for a researching traineeship at XXXXX under the XXXXXX programme is already an honour, having a chance of being a member of your team, a dream.02br
