urgent letter to a dean

Hi. I am trying to write 2 formal letters concerning 2 courses for the dean of the faculty of economics and management. First of all I have a bachelor done in my country and I am English educated. I traveled to a country where the language is french and I am trying to continue masters in it. I reached with the director of a private university that gives a certificate of a public university of the state, that I can have the courses, questions of the exams and answer in English. In the final exam of the second semester I failed in two courses because:
1) In the "Marketing" course i wasn't able to understand a 10 pages passage neither in English nor in french because the passage was translated using Google translate toolkit (copy paste): for example: "marché" in french means "market" but who wrote the exam he wrote marché like that: "marche" which will mean in English "walk". So imagine how a 10 pages passage would be translated that way. What i am trying to say that i have the right to complain since i failed because of the bad exam translation of the university leading me to understand nothing and automatically nothing can be solved. Note: I took 6.75/20 in this course but it was 7/20 i would pass it by deliberation, as the module contains other courses not only this.

2) In the "Personnel Development" course, I failed too because the professor who is supposed to give me this course in English had not translated the right course i think since the exam was 14 direct questions and i haven't seen any of those questions in the course. What i am trying to say too that the reason of my failure here is that i hadn't the right or at least the full course to be able to answer at least 1 out of 14 questions.

So please can you help me in writing these 2 letters as sooooon as possible to convince the Dean about my situation in order to take the best decisions that will fit me.

I am writing this letter to request for reconsideration of the final mark in the “Sensory Marketing” material (master 1 management, second semester).

I and Mr X arrived to a solution to let me continue my dream by appointing a professor to give me the materials in English and “Sensory Marketing” was one of them, and by translating the exam question sheet into English, and by letting me solve the exam in English too. I was very happy reaching this solution. In the final exam of the “Sensory Marketing” material in the second semester of Master 1 management, the exam was a case study of 10 pages that must be carefully read in order to able to answer the questions that follow. But the problem was that these 10 pages were translated using the Google translate toolkit which is not a good way to translate those types of big passages, which changed the whole meaning of the passage and even more most of the sentences were meaningless. A small example describing what I am saying: "marché" means "market" but who wrote the exam he wrote marché like that: "marche" which will mean in English "walk", so “walk” was replaced by “market”. So imagine how the meaning of a 10 pages passage will be. Then I was reading meaningless English and I knew that the text is translated by a toolkit as I use it to improve my French and for sure too I wasn’t understanding the original French version. Moreover in the module containing this course my average is “10.06/20”, and it was possible to pass this material if my mark was “7/20” but unfortunately my mark is less by 0.25 “6.75/20”.

I am kindly looking forward to reconsider my situation in this course as the reason of this failure was because of the inability to understand the case required to be studied and especially that I was so near to pass it.

The course that I had between my hands which was supposed to contain these definitions didn’t contain any of them, so the result was failure as I wasn’t able to solve one of those questions completely and my mark was “5.55/20” which affects also negatively the average of the module which it was in to make it “8.6/20”

I am kindly looking forward to reconsider my situation in this course as the reason of this failure wasn’t my negligence.

Note: I don’t want to hurt the professor who gave me this course as much as possible (even I hate him sooooo much because of what he did)

I am writing this letter to request reconsideration of my final marks on the Sensory Marketing and Personnel Development materials (Master 1 Management, second semester).

I am a master's student in the Institut Supérieur de Management (ISMA), and I am English-educated. As I was searching for a way to continue my education to the PhD level, I was obliged to leave my country to start working. Mr X arrived at a solution for continuing my dream by asking a professor to give me the materials in English, including Sensory Marketing and Personnel Development, and then by translating the examination questions into English and accepting my answers in English. Of course, I was very happy with this solution.

The questions for the final examination in Sensory Marketing were based on a 10-page case study, which unfortunately was machine-translated using Google software. This is not a good way to translate such lengthy passages: the whole meaning of the passage was changed, and in fact, most of it was meaningless. A brief example: "marché", meaning "market", was translated as English "walk" throughout. I recognized that the text was machine-translated, as I had used Google on occasion to study French, but I certainly could not understand the original French version. In the module containing this course, my average is 10.06/20, so it was possible to pass this material if my mark was 7/20, but unfortunately my current mark is 6.75/20, only 0.25 under the pass line.

The final examination for the Personnel Development material contained about 14 direct questions which could be answered by knowing specific definitions. The coursework, however, did not include any of these definitions, so I was unable to solve one of those questions completely, and my mark was 5.55/20, which negatively affected my average for the module, making it 8.6/20.

I am asking you to kindly reconsider my situation, as the reason for this failure was only because of my inability to understand the poorly-translated case study and the missing course material, and because I so nearly passed otherwise.
