In terms of grammar, all of these are possible.

It's a matter of trying to decide what the intended meaning is, and which two words best fit that meaning.

Only C seems suitable.

'Flexibility' seems to suit a situation in which someone puts aside their scruples for a time.

'Inexorable' sems to collocate well with the idea of adherence.

The meanings of the words in the other options do not fit as well.
