urgent help needed - what part of speech is 'two inches"
0 Will anyone be kind enough to tell me what part of speech is 'TWO INCHES' in the following sentence? It can't be the DIRECT OBJECT since the verb 'grew' seems to be an intransitive verb. 02 br

0 I'd call it a noun phrase or elided prepositional phrase ( 01 i 01 b 00 by 02 b 00 two inches 02 i 00 ) used as an adverbial. 0-
